The
centerpiece feature of Shadow Hills Country Club continues to be our magnificent
course. Our course opened for play in 1961. Between 1992 and
1994, the course underwent a major remodel using the designs of
course architect, Bill Robinson. Additional changes to holes 11 and 12 were
implemented in 2001-2003, again utilizing the designs of course architect Bill
Robinson. The green of #12 was relocated to require a water carry from all of
the newly rebuilt tees. Number 11 was lengthened by about 30 yards, and
converted into a dogleg right to bring into play the newly enlarged pond. Also two
sand bunkers were added at the dogleg of #10 fairway.
The championship layout measures over 7,000 yards and features
more than 60 bunkers and 6 large water features that will receive the
ill-struck ball.
The Poa Annua greens at Shadow Hills day in and day out are
comparable to the finest in the nation and can reach speeds
of over 11 feet on the Stimp meter.
Four separate tees for men and two for women offer many options
for challenging all levels of golfer.
Because of the country setting of the club, the course maintains
a level of tranquility for the players which is becoming more
and more desirable.
